Early morning mist obscures

I woke early to capture some photos on Hampstead Heath. I was struck by the breathtaking beauty of the mist rolling through the land creating another place i could imagine i could step through...and yet when i tried it was elusive always several paces away from me. Yet I was aware of the clarity of the place i was stood in although in although surrounded by mist.....sometimes the Liminal is like that, clear glimpses through the confusion.

The Albert Launches

The Albert launches in a spectacular wind which nearly blew away the golden leaves I tied on the tree outside to lure attention to the amazing events unfolding inside.

The toilets offered a twilight blue glow with this shot, echoing the Albert's interim and temporary feel. All will change in time meanwhile.....check out the website for events and workshops

The Future beckons ...in The Albert NW6

I'm really excited to be starting my residency at The Albert in 2013. The studio is painted, the trestle table laid out and materials assembled! Developing the theme of transition and focusing specifically on the areas of breaking through and transformation i hope to make sculpture again now i have a place to experiment and make some mess!!

Glimpse of A Space In-Between the land and sea

This late winter day was full of brilliant sunshine and the sea receded to reveal land which beckoned.....

Post death.... line them up!

What happens when you die? where does your soul rest if indeed we have one? Well in Hampstead you get to have a bench and other people sit on it and possibly reflect on your life or not. And the flux and flow of life continues...as indeed does the line of benches

Halloween at The Albert

Had an amazing night at The Albert last night getting children to write spells then dip their arms into a bucket of cold jelly brains.....then the horror of the unknown really came into play. The choice .. settle for an eyeball or plunge deeper to find a worm?... the excitement versus the unknown? The liminal....never easy.
